Introductory description
The module provides insights and the necessary skills for managers and technologists to consider the role technology plays in supporting current and future business. The module focuses on instilling the knowledge on how to manage technology in organisations from concept to disposal.
Module aims
The module aims to provide an appreciation of the role that technology plays in organisations. Using key management tools, techniques and frameworks, it helps managers and technologist consider ways to integrate technology to gain competitiveness. It integrates knowledge and leading edge thinking on the topic and offers insights into how technology is managed in industry, with relevant case studies and simulations to embed the learning.

Learning activities involve students to work in teams on case studies around challenges in managing technology. The activities include case study analysis, facilitated discussion and group presentations to report on proposed solution(s). Students will do 2 case studies. Each case studies will require students to go through 3 milestone: (1) initial reporting (2) application of tools and techniques (3) presentation. Detail of requirements of each milestone will be provided in the coursework brief. Peer adjustment will be used to determine final individual mark. |

Written feedback will be provided to students using the student-facing feedback sheets via Tabula for all assessment components. Where relevant, feedback for in-class assessments will be given verbally during each case study milestone.
