Introductory description
The module provides insights and the necessary skills for managers and technologists to consider the role technology plays in supporting current and future business. The module focuses on instilling the knowledge on how to manage technology in organisations from concept to disposal.
Module aims
The module aims to provide an appreciation of the role that technology plays in organisations. Using key management tools, techniques and frameworks, it helps managers and technologist consider ways to integrate technology to gain competitiveness. It integrates knowledge and leading edge thinking on the topic and offers insights into how technology is managed in industry, with relevant case studies and simulations to embed the learning.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the module, students should be able to:

- Evaluate the technology competence and needs of a business to identify appropriate technology choices
- Collaboratively apply an approach for managing technology in an organisation
- Demonstrate the application of tools and techniques to identify and deliver technological change at an acceptable risk

Learning activities involve students to work in teams on case studies around challenges in managing technology. The activities include case study analysis, facilitated discussion and group presentations to report on proposed solution(s). The maximum time for the presentation is 15 minutes. Peer adjustment will be used to determine final individual mark. |

Individual assessment case study on a technology management challenge. Student submits a report of their analysis of the case study and propose solution(s) on managing technology. The format is a report deck of 6-8 pages (including images, figures or diagrams, tables and explanatory notes ). |

Feedback on assessment
Written feedback will be provided in a report for all assignments. Feedback for the case studies will be given verbally during the module with written feedback for all in-module components provided in a summary table following all of the face to face part of the module.
