Introductory description
In facing the rapid changes in a globally competitive market and the constantly renewed technological innovation. Global supply chain and logistics sectors are enduring ever-increasing challenges, where demand for renewed knowledge and skills, especially for the new generation of industrialists, is constantly rising. This proposed Supply Chain Management module is designed to face these challenges and delivers a new set of fundamental knowledge that addresses the changing business structure, relationship, and operational effectiveness from a renewed supply chain perspective. The contents of the module will be the foundation for following modules to complete your degree. The module is delivered through face-to-face lectures, seminars, and online. It is delivered mainly by the University's internal academic tutor, and supported and complemented by contributions from experienced external professionals and academics alike.
Module aims
The principal aims of the module are to prepare the students with advanced knowledge in the field of supply chain management and to develop the essential skills to apply the knowledge when facing or anticipating real-world business cases.
Outline syllabus
This is an indicative module outline only to give an indication of the sort of topics that may be covered. Actual sessions held may differ.
The module will cover various aspects of the supply chain management field, including but not limited to: an introduction to supply chain management, designing supply chains, assessing supply chain performance, value stream mapping, recent developments and advancements in supply chain management field, managing risks in supply chains, understanding the role of forecasting, and financial implications.
