Assessment component
Portfolio 100% No

A portfolio consisting of:

  • Two reflective summary reports (approx. 1000 words each; submission dates to be evenly spread throughout the academic year; to be determined on an individual student basis, and; to be agreed in advance of the student placement start date). The reports should record the student’s experiences of the period of work placement.
  • An academic-style poster (A1 size) or a video (approx. 3 minutes) related to the stated outcomes of the module. The poster or video should contain contextual information on the host institution, the cultural and working environments, the skills developed and how they relate to personal, academic and career development.
[In addition there may be a formal presentation or structured interview with questions allowing the exploration of the skills, knowledge and attributes gained during the year abroad related to the stated outcomes of the module if there are mitigating or unusual circumstances that prevented the student from completing the entire assessment.]
Reassessment component is the same
Feedback on assessment

Students will receive written feedback through Tabula on the portfolio assessments.

Students will receive one placement visit - either face to face or virtual, depending on circumstances - to discuss progress with a representative from the University and the placement provider.

Feedback on performance expected throughout the placement, to be provided by the placement provider according to their HR processes.
