Module aims
At the end of Phase I, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of biomedical science, social science and population health principles, methods and knowledge, take a patient history and have started to develop as a professional.

This is an indicative module outline only to give an indication of the sort of topics that may be covered. Actual sessions held may differ.
There are 6 blocks of learning in Phase I of the MB ChB course as follows:
- Learning Medicine
- Health, Metabolism and Homeostasis
- Blood, Lungs and Heart
- Brain and Behaviour
- Locomotion
- Reproduction and Child Health
The syllabus of each of the above blocks is provided in the individual block approval forms.

By the end of the module, students should be able to:

Feedback on assessment
Face to face feedback is available to those students who do not meet the summative examination pass threshold and is delivered in a timely manner. Individual electronic feedback on performance in the summative examinations will be normally provided within 2 working days following the release of the results.
