To provide students with the opportunity to complete an undergraduate work placement
Module aims
To provide students with the opportunity to
- Develop experience of, and confidence in, essential workplace skills.
- Develop in a commercial professional, industrial or other environment skills previously pursued in an academic setting.
- Improve foreign language skills [in placements where the language is not English].
- Broaden understanding and knowledge of their subject specialism(s).
- Achieve personal development in preparation for employment and global citizenship

Learning outcomes
By the end of the module, students should be able to:
- The application in a non-academic environment of critical, analytical and interpersonal skills developed in pursuit of their disciplinary studies.
- Understanding of the work environment and their contribution to it.
- The development of high level transferrable skills such as confidence, communication, flexibility, time management, team working.

Feedback on assessment
Students will receive feedback on their submitted portfolio online. The assessment will be pass / fail. If the assessment is failed, students will be allowed to transfer onto the version of the degree programme without intercalated year
