Introductory description

A project for BSc Cyber Security must focus on the cyber security domain.

With support from their supervisor, an individual student will be expected to undertake the full life cycle of a research or development project in the cyber domain.

Module aims

In this module, students will undertake the full life cycle of a research or development project in the cyber domain. The module emphasises the critical evaluation of existing published materials, enabling students to present relevant ideas and insights into a well-referenced literature review. It equips students with the skills to choose and effectively apply suitable research methods, tools, and techniques tailored to address specific research questions and the associated research objectives. Furthermore, the module allows students to develop their project management skills, including planning, monitoring, risk mitigation, and reporting, aimed at completing their project with optimal time and resource utilisation. An integral part of this module is the emphasis on effective communication, ensuring that findings are presented in a manner that resonates with the needs and expectations of the intended audience. Finally, ethical responsibility is a core value considered the module, guiding students in the responsible conduct of research or development, thus ensuring the integrity of their work.
