Overview of recent research in key research streams in the field of operations management.

Module aims

To make students aware of recent developments in Operations Management, engage them with seminal papers related to their PhD research, and establish a stronger connection between doctoral students and members of the Operations group.

By the end of the module, students should be able to:

  • Understand the development of Operations Management as a field of inquiry
  • Engage with and critique the main theories in Operations Management
  • Have sufficient awareness of various tools and techniques from a variety of OM sub-fields, including supply chain management, performance management and improvement, and innovation.
  • Critically reflect and apply relevant concepts and frameworks to your research
