IB9V0-15 Corporate Finance
Introductory description
This module aims to provide students with a fundamental understanding of corporate finance theory and practice. It reviews basic theories and applications in firm capital structure decisions, corporate governance and ethics, capital budgeting and payout policy of corporations.
Module aims
The module reviews basic theories on long term debt and equity financing and builds on that via real life applications. It covers capital budgeting and goes further with applications and related academic literature. It describes the factors influencing the firm capital structure along with the models of agency theories. Also, it discusses the importance and methods of corporate governance, ethics and ESG, corporate control and M&A. Finally, it provides an understanding of theories and applications of international corporate finance. Throughout, the module tries to improve student skills for better understanding and application of academic papers.
