HI3G1-120 Study Year Abroad
Introductory description
The History Department offers its undergraduate students the opportunity, on a competitive basis, to spend a full academic year at one or two of our partner universities through our exchange programmes.
Module aims
- To demonstrate the ability to study abroad for a year at a host university approved by the History department;
- To experience and gain a deeper understanding of the social and cultural diversity of the country where you undertake your year abroad;
- To travel abroad and achieve personal development in preparation for employment and global citizenship;
- To develop your spoken, written, and communications skills in the language of the country where you undertake your year abroad.
- To further your knowledge and understanding of History by taking modules that are not available to study at Warwick;
- To provide the opportunity to study modules outside of History that might not normally be available to study at Warwick.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the module, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate ability to exercise significant judgement in a variety of situations that may be encountered on the year abroad and to act autonomously with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate effectiveness in interpersonal and intercultural competencies and communication
- Effectively communicate ideas that are informed and coherent
- Critically review and take responsibility for own learning and personal development by reflecting on the skills and qualities developed on the year abroad
